The track has three variations, and hosts rounds of the British GT and BTCC championships, along with several smaller series. Due to noise restrictions and religious beliefs, most races are held on Saturday's or bank holiday Monday's.
Silverstone hosts the British round of the FIA Formula One World Championship and the MotoGP championship. The circuit also hosts national series including British GT and BTCC.
